About The Book

Alfred Marshalls work influenced half a century of financial philosophy. Though the bulk of his work was completed before the turn of the 20th century the global ramifications of World War I prompted him to reconsider his theories on international economics and in 1919 he published the two-volume Industry and Trade. Presented here in one combined volume he discusses: - the relationship between trade and industry - technical influences on industrial economies - modern finance and business organization - how monopolies and competition impact prices - unions co-opts and business federations - and much more. British economist ALFRED MARSHALL (1842-1924) was one of the most prominent thinkers of his age on the philosophy of finance and his groundbreaking Principles of Economics (1890) was for years the standard text on the subject. Other works include The Economics of Industry and Industry and Trade.
