The book lays stress on the significance of infection control with the help of valuable information. Due to Healthcare Associated Infections (HAI) growing worldwide they have become a serious problem for medical practitioners. It causes an increase in morbidity death rate and hospitalization period for patients. Furthermore it brings financial burden on the patient health care set up and State and National Health Care System. 5 to 10% of patients on an average in hospitals in developed countries are suffering from HAI. However nearly 30% of these infections are preventable by following the infection control practices properly especially maintaining proper hand hygiene while attending patients.
