About The Book

The problem of infertility was not given much attention in South Asian countries. Infertility refers to inability to become pregnant (or have a child) despite actively trying for a certain number of years. Infertility is associated with several risk factors multifactorial in nature. Many of the risk factors including endometriosis polycystic ovarian syndrome hypothyroidism pelvic inflammatory disease menstrual cycle disturbances and hormonal imbalance are preventable by identifying and controlling these fertility defects. The study includes 100 infertile women to assess the role of endocrine hormones including luteinizing hormone (LH) follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) and prolactin in infertile women under 42 years and other physiological factors associated with infertility.
