Influence of defoliation on carbohydrate production in grapevines

About The Book

The carbohydrate content of grapevine leaves (Vitis vinifera L.) in the sub-middle São Francisco Valley is influenced by climatic and phenological variations and gene expression which interfere with photosynthetic activity making carbohydrate production more or less intense and affecting the plant's growth and development. Under stress conditions the plant can reduce its leaf area and the number of leaves affecting its vegetative and/or productive vigour.
