Influence of dental occlusion on postural stature

In recent years much work has been done on the link between occlusion and posture with contradictory results. While clinically this relationship between occlusion and posture seems obvious it is much more difficult to assess using measuring instruments.A study was conducted to determine whether the use of a stabilometry platform for occlusal-postural treatment was of any use. Two experiments were carried out: the first on three healthy subjects to see if the results were comparable and repeatable between them and for the same person; the second with a selected population with postural disorders and occlusal pathology.
