Information systems and logistics excellence

The aim of this work is to analyze the impact of logistics information systems (SILog) on process performance and maturity in the automotive and aeronautical industries in Morocco. Through a hybrid exploratory qualitative study we observed a complexity in the measurement of process maturity which led us to group the concepts of performance and maturity under the term logistics benefits. A conceptual model adapted to the Moroccan context was developed and measurement tools were validated using exploratory factor analysis and CB-SEM modeling. The results underline that logistics profit improvement is possible through optimization of customer service logistics processes and differentiation from competitors. This model provides practitioners with a framework to guide their strategic decisions in achieving logistics excellence.
