Inguinal Versus Scrotal Approach in Idiopathic Vaginal Hydrocele

The scrotal approach of hydrocelectomy has been extensively studied and widely practiced over the years and continues to be the most popular method even today.The inguinal approach is a relatively new technique and is claimed to have lesser post operative morbidity pain and recurrence thereby permitting the patient to resume their daily chores at the earliest.The present study was undertaken with the aim of exploring and comparing two established surgical procedures viz. the scrotal approach and the inguinal approach for hydrocelectomy in patients with unilateral idiopathic hydrocele.
