Institutionalizing Youth Participation in Community Development Work

The author of the book Ms. Kakoli Malkhandi had started her professional journey as Part-time Lecturer in Managerial Economics (in Bachelor of Business Administration). Later on she shifted to the development sector due to her penchant for being associated with community development work. She has been associated with various grassroots level community development work and has gathered colossal experience in community development work for almost two decades and she looks forward to further knowledge in this field. It is no happenstance that I am writing this book during a time when India has ‘youth’ as a greater fraction of its population. It has been quite a lengthy process of accumulation of thoughts and facts that has ultimately prompted me to write this book on Institutionalizing Youth Participation in Community Development Work. The purpose of writing the book is to instil the idea of active youth participation in community development work and ‘institutionalizing youth participation in community development work’ in the minds of young people and all other stakeholders for sustaining the positive outcomes.’ In this book the author has presented the IYP-Model (Institutionalizing Youth Participation in Community Development Work) which she feels is an integral part of ‘Socioeconomics’.
