American journalist John Jack Reed documents the 1914 Mexican Revolution in his on-the-ground reports. He provides a superbly accurate depiction of how the peasants and Indians of Mexico endured under a cruel regime. He writes of his experience with Pancho Villa in northern Mexico and the fight in the desert. Being a Gringo he found it difficult because most Americans had just travelled to Mexico to despoil the country.
