Integral Heritage Valuation of fossiliferous sites

This report has gathered information that is particularly useful for the heritage management of the palaeontological site of La Mancha de La Laja in Bajamar and its surroundings. This is materialised in the creation of an educational and tourist itinerary in the area highlighting its geological and palaeontological wealth and its biodiversity. This fossiliferous locality forms part of the Palaeontological Heritage of the Municipality of San Cristóbal de La Laguna declared a World Heritage City. The importance of the management of the Palaeontological Heritage of La Laguna is due to the fact that the palaeontological sites and the fossils found in them are a non-renewable natural and cultural resource and therefore their conservation contributes to the sustainable development of the area.
