Intercultural Competency in International Schools

Around the world cultural diversity is increasing in our school communities especially amongst the large number of international schools. Students do best when taught by teachers who have a high level of intercultural competence but how is this skill developed and measured? Research from four international schools located in Asia Africa Europe and South America reveal insights into the recruitment methods used by school leaders to employ interculturally competent teachers. Results from the research also provide specific recommendations for teachers schools and universities as to how they can identify and develop intercultural competency amongst teachers and staff.
