Internal Pipeline Corrosion and Mitigation
English

About The Book

Carbon dioxide corrosion of pipeline is a major concern in oil and gas industries. Carbon dioxide is a mildly acidic gas that causes internal corrosion of pipeline steel. Addition of small amount of hydrogen sulphide severely increases the corrosion of pipeline steel. The severity of corrosion damage depends on various parameters such as temperature partial pressure of carbon dioxide concentration of chloride ionsHydrogen sulphide pH of the solution. It can be economically minimized using organic based inhibitors.
