International Law Themes

International law permeates much of our daily lives. Its relevance transcends the regulation of the relations of states and international organizations and reaches usually silently and invisibly all of us. International law gains prominence as a result of its practical effects on everyday life especially for states and individuals. Understanding the international phenomenon and its legal regulation is necessary for the understanding of a world in which globalization cooperation and national interests have become concepts that require a joint analysis with the proper balance of the elements of each one. Current international law is evolving towards a global society concerned with human rights and this evolution places limits on the sovereignty of states'' national justifications. The legal constructions around war crimes genocide and against humanity show that the conception of sovereignty is evolving.
