The development of international organizations has gone through several stages contributing to their emergence as influential entities in global decision-making. This was particularly evident with the establishment of the League of Nations which despite its failure played a role in mitigating the aftermath of World War I. The creation of the United Nations further emphasized the importance of international organizations particularly through its focus on maintaining international peace and security a commitment to which various states and governments have subscribed.
