<p>In this May 2009 interview MAJ Joshua Ruisanchez Aviation discusses his deployment to Iraq as the petroleum oil and lubricants/ammunition (Class III/V) platoon leader in the 2-3 Infantry. MAJ Ruisanchez recounts the training he and his platoon had prior to deployment his deployment into theater as part of the quartering party and the work he had to do to prepare for the arrival of the rest of the unit into theater. MAJ Ruisanchez discusses challenges he faced in getting his platoon spun up on how to refuel and rearm many other aircraft than what he and his unit were normally used to and the successes he shared with them throughout the deployment. MAJ Ruisanchez concludes his interview by stating that keeping morale high was important to keep the Soldiers focused on their mission and what they had to do in theater.</p><p>This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it.
