Into the Jaws of Death - PTs at Surigao

About The Book

There were about 600 American sailors on the 39 PT Boats that formed a scouting and intercept line at Surigao Strait on Oct 24-25 1944. Like the Valiant Six Hundred of Alfred Lord Tennyson's poem The Charge of The Light Brigade from an era 90 years earlier these young men of America's greatest generation rode their wooden boats to attack Imperial Japanese Navy steel warships up to 300 times their size. The book tells about the boats the crews and the battle. It includes descriptions from the official Action Reports as well as quotations from the participants along with personal details and crew member photos that are not covered in other stories about the battle.
