The present book Introduction to Mycology is an attempt to provide the basic concise and in-depth information about the various aspects of Fungi. There is an enormous increase in our knowledge of this group of biologicallyfascinating organisms. A general account of all major divisions of fungi proposed by Ainsworth (1973) and the detailed life history of many genera are given to suit the needs and syllabi of Indian Universities.Classification of Fungi and Economic importance of Fungi are discussed in detail. With a long teaching experience the author has made an attempt to provide a complete information on fungi in this text. The language of the text is simple vivid and the subject matter is provided with labeled illustrations for this text.
