Introspective view of Job-design and Absenteeism in modern organization reviewed in detail relevant problems resulting from the menace of absenteeism in the work place. this study provides a generic trend of absenteeism issues around the globe and the cost implication of absenteeism to firms. the study also reviewed attempt made by researchers and management thinkers trying to proffer solution to this problems. relevant theories are reviewed in course of attempt to also solve the issue of absenteeism. as a new dimensional approach to addressing the problems resulting from absenteeism in the work-place; this study championed Job-design as the way forward. that is restructuring the content and context of employee job to create a balance between the technical requirement of the organization and that of the social life of the job holder. suggestions base on empirical research and pilot survey has been offered to enable managers manage absenteeism issues in the modern organization.
