Iodine Deficiency among Primary School Children of Eastern Nepal

This book is aimed at analyzing the iodine status in the school age children (SAC) of rural (Dhankuta) and urban (Dharan) part of the Eastern Nepal. SAC were tested for the Urinary Iodine Concentration (UIC) and Salt Iodine Content (SIC). We found that iodine status of the urban part is better as compared to the rural part because of the easy availability of adequately iodized salt. The research was carried on at B. P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences Dharan Nepal.
