Ionia and the East

Originally published in 1909 this series of six lectures was given by British archaeologist and scholar David George Hogarth. From Lecture I: The purpose of these lectures is generally to consider the circumstances under which the Hellenic civilization properly so called came into being and in particular the origin of that brilliant Ionian society which a French writer has named le printemps de la Grce. No Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software was used in the production of this book.
