Is blood thicker than water?

Is blood thicker than water? This proverb is well known and distinguishes between blood relations and relations of a social nature. In this paper the focus is on kinship relationships and biological and social aspects are examined more closely. For this purpose two adoptive families are used in which adopted and natural children live. The aim of the work is to take a closer look at the representations and relationships between the family members.
