ISCCM Textbook of Critical Care Medicine (POD)

The textbook has 151 chapters and 20 sections. Each section was looked after by section editors across the country having experience and track record in the specialty. Each section starts with a chapter on “approach to patient with organ failure” related to the section followed by chapters on relevant conditions pertaining to the system. Separate section has been devoted to the radiology ethics and governance obstetrics geriatrics and transplant. Details on toxicology endocrine emergencies and daily challenges of governance faced have also been dealt separately to make students aware. There is a separate section on the COVID-19 where we have discussed its immunobiology pathophysiology clinical manifestations related to different organs postacute care and vaccination. ICU care has created another syndrome of chronic illness having high mortality and morbidity. To sensitize the practitioners a chapter on chronic critical care is also there.
