Ischemic heart disease

Cardiovascular diseases are among the leading causes of death in the world. Ischemic heart disease is one of the main health problems in the elderly its incidence follows an upward curve and presents a high mortality with the aim of determining the risk factors associated with ischemic heart disease in older adults of the clinic 8 of the health area of Manacas during 2019 a case-control study was conducted. The case group consisted of 34 older adults with a diagnosis of ischemic heart disease and was matched 1: 1 according to sex for the controls. Statistical analysis was performed using the percentage method and odds ratio. Ischemic heart disease in older adults in clinic 8 of the Manacas area predominates in male patients and increases directly proportional to age. Angina is the most frequent. All the factors studied behaved as predisposing factors for the development of heart disease with arterial hypertension dyslipidemia and diabetes mellitus standing out in that order.
