About The Book

In his early twenties Edgar Thomson moved from Philadelphia to Georgia to become the Chief Engineer of the newly-formed Georgia Rail Road. Thomson was in complete control of the building of the railroad from Augusta to Terminus soon to be Atlanta. Ninety-five percent of this book is fact with the other five percent added to connect the dots. Thomson could have amassed a fortune to match his famous cronies but he was not a greedy man; he was quiet gentle and humble. Few people in Georgia know Thomsons story. Here is the Georgia Rail Road and the Edgar Thomson story from 1833 through 1845.All proceeds of this book benefit the Thomson-McDuffie Museum Thomson GA.
