J. William Fulbright

William Fulbright assesses the literature by and about Senator Fulbright chronicling the course of U.S. history since the 1940s his important role as chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and in major controversies across the years such as the Red Scare about communists in government in the 1950s the Vietnam War and agitation against it in the 1960s and the well-known and highly educational exchange program that he fostered.
