As a little boy Jack is faced with many challenges. Life is very different for Jack because he lives in a cabin with a large family on a farm surrounded by a great forest. They do not share modern comforts like running water or electricity and since transportation is not an option he and his siblings walk together to school on a regular basis. Jacks grandmother lives alone on a hill a mile away. During the week Jack who is only seven years old walks the mile to his grandmothers cabin to keep her company at night. One morning on his way to join his brothers and sisters Jack meets a bear. When he tries to tell his parents they do not believe his story. See what happens when Jacks father meets the bear for the first time.
