This volume's honoree is Jaider Esbell a renowned visual artist and writer who in his work dialogues with Makuxi culture revitalizing the myth of Makunaíma. Jaider Esbell passed away early at the age of 42 in 2021 after becoming one of the most important contemporary visual artists in Brazil with an internationally recognized work.
