About The Book

Jose Broca (1805 - 1882) was a Spanish composer and a student of Dionisio Aguado. He was born in Reus a province of Tarragona and was later established in Barcelona. There Brocá earned great renown for his playing of works by Sor and Aguado and as a teacher. He was a friend of Julian Arcas and the teacher of Jose Ferrer and Felipe Pedrell. Brocá's works are elegant pieces in a similar style to that of Francisco Tarrega but written much earlier.
