Author Shaul Ezer has brought to life the Old Testament chapters of Joshua's famous conquest of Jericho. When Joshua takes on Moses's role as leader of the Hebrews after Moses dies, he must prepare for battle to capture Canaan, the Promised Land. At the same time he faces internal conflicts amongst the Hebrews as others question his leadership and his plans. Joshua must persevere in his trust that God will help him conquer the fortified city. This is a story of spies and intrigue, of human frailties and doubts in times of crises and danger, and of a stunning military victory.
Shaul Ezer's book is an imaginative retelling of the biblical story of Jericho, providing historical setting and detail that helps give a feel for what it might have been like to be with the Israelite camp or wandering the streets of the ancient city. Ezer creatively fills out characters we know like Joshua and Rahab, and supplies new ones to write a fuller story about this important time in Israel's history.

Excellent depictions of biblical characters and the ordeals they underwent, written in an imaginative and insightful manner. These portrayals extend the reader's imagination to an almost contemporary framework. Recommended! - Prof. Yotam Hotam, PhD
