About The Book

The thought of writing this book first came to me while I was in Punjab. One day I watched my daughter joyfully observing a kaato (squirrel) leaping from tree to tree. She laughed with delight as it jumped playfully trying to catch it. In that moment I realized how closely a girl’s life resembles that of a kaato. A girl’s nature is lively active and cheerful much like the squirrel. Yet in many stages of life she is not given the right to speak against decisions or circumstances imposed upon her. Despite these limitations she continues to shine—silent on the outside yet cheerful and strong within. This book reflects that spirit celebrating the resilience innocence and quiet strength of girls. Mrs. Harjot Kaur a resident of Meerut Uttar Pradesh was born in Delhi and pursued her graduation from the University of Delhi. During her academic journey Punjabi emerged as her favorite subject inspiring a deep connection with the language and its cultural richness. Her passion for Punjabi literature motivated her to contribute meaningfully by writing in the language she cherishes most. This book is a reflection of that dedication blending her love for Punjabi with her desire to preserve and promote its literary heritage. Through her writing she seeks not only to express her thoughts but also to inspire readers to embrace the beauty and depth of Punjabi. This work marks her sincere step toward enriching regional literature with authenticity and heartfelt expression
