<p> The author at age 60-something decided she was ready to do tackle something different somewhere completely different. This book recounts the school year she spent in Kabul teaching at the American University of Afghanistan. She tells of her life at the school in the guesthouse and out and about in the city--all within the security parameters necessary in a war zone. Life with the threat of kidnapping and bombings was not so easy.</p>
