KAMAN & TARAON MISHMIS OF ARUNACHAL PRADESH

The Kaman & Taraon Mishmis resides in the twin districts of Lohit and Anjaw located in the easternmost part of Arunachal Pradesh India with a total population of 30000 (census 2011) sharing similar clothing/food/living/custom/tradition/ritual practices. The only difference both have is in the dialect they speak. The tribe has recently developed the writing script paucity of which the society has no records of customary laws set of rules or code of conducts. Based on the orally collected information present book has covered some of the important aspects of Kaman/Taraon Mishmi society like legend of weaving culture genealogy/nomenclature traditional house traditional dress & ornaments customs & customary laws traditional rituals & healing practices proverbs in Taraon Mishmis and change & continuity in Kaman/Taraon Mishmi society using Taraon dialect to explain the meaning.
