The charm of the early 20th century provides the backdrop for a close-knit island community on the tip of the Pacific Northwest. A fatherless youth named Bud explores the world beyond his sparse island home. As a relationship with a socialite named Mary grows deeper he struggles to overcome the challenge of acceptance by her own kind.Forsaking his upbringing Bud delves into lawlessness as the prohibition years offer him a way forward. A house on rocky point becomes a refuge.As time passes and Bud creates a life for himself an encounter with a passenger aboard his ship leads to the discovery of a stronghold of Nazis once thought annihilated. Art treasurers and a stolen submarine takes him across the world with dire consequences not only for himself but his loved ones.
