The aim of this study was to assess the knowledge attitude and practice of contraceptives among secondary schools’ adolescents in Bugesera District Rwanda due to its high number of unplanned pregnancies among adolescents observed in 2019 and 2020. This was a cross-sectional study as after the collection of data the exposure and outcome variables were measured at the same time. Adolescent boys and girls of 12 to 19 years old that were studying in secondary schools in Bugesera District were the target population of this study. The sample size of 320 adolescents was selected from 10 secondary schools. The study revealed that 43% of adolescents have a high level of knowledge on contraceptives 49% of them showed positive attitudes towards contraceptives and 32% had a good practice of contraceptives. The multivariable logistic regression showed that gender (AOR=2.164; 95% CI= [1.258-3.725]; p=0.005) (AOR=3.406 95% CI= [2.004-5.778]; p<0.001) are associated with the practice of contraceptives.
