KAPTĀN KE BIṬIYĀ (‘KĀLĀ PĀN KE BĪWĪ’ TATHĀ KAHĀNĪ SAṀGRAH SAHIT)

It is a great pleasure to present before the Magahi speakers and readers a Magahi translation “कप्तान के बिटिया” of a world famous Russian novel “Капитанская Дочка” (The Captain’s Daughter) along with the novella “Пиковая Дама” (The Queen of Spades) and a collection of five stories — a long-felt desideratum — that will contribute towards reducing the deficiency of prose works in Magahi. As far as possible the style of original Russian text has been preserved in the Magahi translation. A large number of footnotes have been added for easy understanding of the text and from research point of view a detailed bibliography has been provided. Other pieces of information such as Russian names character names in the novel etc have also been added for general information.
