About The Book

“To work we have the right but not to the fruits thereof...” Swami Vivekananda was a Hindu spiritual leader and a social reformer who under the guidance of his guru Ramakrishna Paramahamsa reintroduced the philosophy of Vedanta to the World. Karma Yoga consists of a series of lectures Vivekananda delivered to supporters and enthusiasts in New York City in the late 1890s. Through these discourses Vivekananda emphasises the concept of karma (action) as one of the four spiritual paths in Hinduism. With examples and incidents from the Bhagavad Gita Vivekananda explains the path to moksha (enlightenment) which results from selfless deeds performed for the benefit of humankind but without any expectations.
