She began writing verses at the young age of seven. She wrote many hymns including the well know one: Take My Life and Let It Be. Other hymns written by her include: Like A River GloriousI Gave My Life for Theeand Who Is on the Lords Side? as well as others. She published several volumes of poems and hymns. Her book Kept For the Masters Use is based on her hymn Take My Life and Let It Be Consecrated Lord to Thee.
