Know About Your Planets

A planet is a spherical body composed of rocks gases and other materials where conditions may allow life to exist. Our Solar System has eight planets each unique in size composition and atmosphere. The inner planets—Mercury Venus Earth and Mars—are rocky while the outer planets—Jupiter Saturn Uranus and Neptune—are gas giants or icy bodies. Earth is the only known planet to support life with the others offering diverse environments and conditions for scientific study.
