Know your HIV Epidemic and Know your Response Synthesis

In 2016 an estimated 718500 of people living with HIV and about 19743 AIDS related deaths has occurred in Ethiopia. The current national HIV/AIDS strategic plan [2015-2020] capitalizes on implementing targeted prevention interventions to reach those at risk and vulnerable population groups and preparing district based epidemiologic synthesis using routine data.Somali region has responded the diseases both institutionally and program levels which is more centralized. The overall HIV prevalence in Ethio-Somali region is relatively low [0.75% 2016 EPHI] but more varied significantly among zones and districts. Centralized Somali HAPCO organizational structure also exists in the study area due to limed budget and partners that hinders reaching all target groups.
