From Medical Aspirations to Makeup Passion - My Journey Introduction From a young age I harboured a deep-seated passion for skincare and makeup. I vividly remember crafting my very first makeup kit back in the 5th grade. However my household had strict rules and indulging in makeup was never permitted. Despite this pursued my education diligently aiming to pursue a career in medicine. After completing my 12th grade I embarked on the journey of preparing for medical entrance exams. Despite my persistent efforts I fell short of cracking the exams. Determined not to give up I took a two-year hiatus solely focusing on attempting the medical entrance exams repeatedly. However my scores remained low. After repeatedly attempting entrance exams and putting in so much effort I would often feel deeply depressed when I wasn''t selected. For two years I stayed confined to my room continuously preparing because I believed I could only become a doctor and that''s what I wanted to be. My mind couldn''t accept the fact that there were so many other fields I could explore. I remember if anyone suggested I pursue another field I would break down in tears because since childhood I had been told and convinced that I had to become a doctor. Becoming a doctor was my aim while makeup and skincare were just hobbies. I remember when I took those two years off for exam preparation every relative and friend thought I was crazy and maybe I wouldn''t do anything meaningful with my life just playing with my career. For two years along with entrance exam preparations I only heard criticisms about where my friends had reached about my cousins earning their degrees which made me even more depressed and stressed. My friends surpassed me in the cut offs but I still had hope in Allah that even if delayed something better would come my way . Then came a pivotal moment when I decided to pursue MBBS abroad. All preparations were underway but my parents expressed their reluctance torn between allowing me to follow my dreams and their own apprehensions. It was a turning point in my career when I made a heartfelt decision to set aside my ambitions in medicine for the sake of my parents'' peace of mind. In exchange they agreed to support me in pursuing my true passion: fashion designing and makeup. Their acceptance marked a new chapter in my life. I enrolled in BSc Fashion Designing and concurrently pursued makeup education at the AOM London School of Makeup. This transition not only allowed me to delve into my creative interests but also enabled me to embrace my true calling. During that time I studied skin conditions different skin types what suits each skin type skin diseases and various makeup techniques such as prosthetics theatrical makeup no-makeup makeup and bridal makeup. When I was undergoing my makeup training I learned to apply makeup on every skin colour and also qualified in an exam called CIBTAC. My passion for makeup grew so much that whenever I travelled I started analyzing the faces of people I saw along the way. It took me approximately 3 years to analyze every skin type. Thus my journey from aspiring medic to makeup enthusiast is a testament to the power of following one''s heart even when the path diverges unexpected
