<p><strong><em>Kudzu Georgia</em></strong> tells the story of Sally Mae Hollifield's first year as a grammar school teacher in the 1970's. She falls in love with her students the dirt poor children of a mill village in Appalachia.</p><p><br></p><p>Besides teaching challenges Sally Mae encounters unforgettable Southerners their small-town petty politics and a ring of criminal activity. Despite these conflicts she makes friendships and meets her husband-to-be along the way.</p><p><br></p><p>Kudzu Georgia</em> is a contemporary novel inspired by Constance Bonanni's experiences during her first year in teaching. Constance is now a teacher of teachers (she supervises student teachers in their classrooms) at our local university. She is a funny lady and her sense of humor permeates every page.
