Growing up she didn't know her father but her mother did what she could to ensure her daughter's happiness. However Kyra's mother worries about what others might do to her daughter if they discover what she is capable of. Because of this she keeps their life as quiet as possible and only ventures from their home when necessary to purchase supplies from the city.</span></p><p></p><p><span style=background-color: rgba(255 255 255 1); color: rgba(15 17 17 1)>Since turning seventeen Kyra has become restless and wants to experience more than just their home and the fields around it. She wants to experience the city and the people within it. With the harvest upon them Kyra convinces her reluctant mother to allow her to find work as a field hand. While working Kyra is befriended by two teenage field workers from within the city and she starts to experience things for the first time. As her world opens up Kyra learns of a dark secret about her that forever changes her life and forces her to figure out her place in the world.</span></p><p></p>
