Lady Chatterley's Lover

Lawrence's last book Lady Chatterly's Lover went through brutal censorship stating that it was violating the standards of British society but it was only bringing light to the hypocrisy of the society and uprooting the social and political English society. Women were seldom seen as having an identity of their own so their needs their wants were considered unimportant. In a society where the woman was defined by the standards set by men it is not surprising that Constance Reid and her story are chastised. This book digs deeper into the philosophical side of the class system discussing woman's sensuality and desires as condemnable which holds true even almost a century later.
