The inspiration for the story is a rescued Standard Poodle named Louise who lived in four places before she was 20 months old and found her home with writer Karen Petit. The book moves girls from the princess phase to real life where they will find that being a lady with kindness and manners helps open doors to any place they choose to live or visit or work.
