Laments From the Cookout

<p>This is a collection of poems rooted in the pride beauty spirituality and complexity of southern Black American identity. </p><p></p><p>Born and raised in Birmingham Alabama Chrys grew up learning and loving black southern culture in all its aspects. This propelled them to earn a degree in Print Journalism with a minor in African American Literature from Rust College. Chrys is currently getting a masters of Divinity and working as the Associate pastor of First Christian Church in Rogers Arkansas. </p>
