<p>Growing up in Nebraska the Land of Flat Water was not easy for the young Laurel Rockefeller. Facing first horrific domestic violence followed by a crushing car accident and traumatic brain injury the chaos of growing up in Lincoln was ultimately calmed by embracing Evangelical Christianity in her teen years.</p><p> </p><p>Divided into three parts this poetry book explores Laurel's relationship with Nebraska centering on her writings from ages 8 through 28. Land of Flat Water takes you through Laurel's triumphs and hardships through the best of times and worst to tell the story of a simple girl from Nebraska gifted with music poetry and a love for her feathered friends.</p><p> </p><p>A celebration of Nebraska and its enduring impact on one life.</p>
