One of the biggest problems faced by society in the Amazon is the lack of information and tools to support planning actions. Understanding the spatiality of the forest and its multiple dimensions is fundamental for the development of socioeconomic and environmental programs that can provide land use planning appropriate to the aptitudes of each locality in order to respect the carrying capacity of the environments and promote social development in a region strongly influenced by the primary sector. This book addresses this reality and seeks to lead readers to reflect on (de)development in the southwestern Amazon.
