About The Book

Land as a limited natural resource with a cultural significant has historically been contested in Mount Elgon area in Kenya. The Bukusu and Sabaot who predominantly inhabits the area remains the main protagonist of these age old land contests. This book enacted how British colonialism introduction of Christianity and decolonization during the colonial era augmented the land contest among the Bukusu and Sabaot. The view was not to re-invent the wheel but to give a historicity of this phenomenon that has escaped the attention of many scholars.
