keeping with the realization that laser surgery is as much dependent on pre- and postoperative care as it is on the actual surgical techniques we have included important and useful articles on perioperative dermatologic care for laser skin resurfacing and on recognition and management of intraoperative and postoperative complications. Finally we believe that it is important for surgeons to be aware of what other related disciplines are using the laser for and thus have included an article on the use of lasers in other areas of dentistry.
