Superconductivity was explored in 1911 a century and a decade back.Since than lot of study and researh has been done on this phenomenon. High temperature superconducors(HTS) are major area of thrust since 1987.This book illustrates the HTS in detail and also explains the magnetic field dependence on the critical current density of Bi2Sr2CaCu208+x and (BiPb)2Sr2Ca2Cu3o10+x superconducting tapes. The angular dependence of the critical current structure mechanism of the high temperature superconductorsalignment at different temperature the affect on the bonding intragranular flux pinning change in the various physical and chemical properties of the materials has been explained in detail. The critical current was measured in the magnetic fields up to 5 T at 4.2 K with several orientations of the applied magnetic field relative to the tape. The book fulfills the need of UGPG and Research students.

Some material parameters such as critical current density Jc of oxide high-Tc superconductors are highly anisotropic with respect to the magnetic field direction due to layered structures with large thermal fluctuations. The current transport characteristics can be varied drastically by changing the applied direction of the external magnetic field. In Bi-system superconductors in particular although it is easier to grow c-oriented crystals and long tapes are fabricated such processing benefits also create anisotropy problems [4-6].
